THE ULTIMATE SIMPLE SLIDER

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
1 pound of 80/20 ground beef
1 diced Vidalia or sweet onion
1/3 cup of mayonnaise
1/3 cup of ketchup
1 tablespoon of yellow mustard
1 tablespoon of sweet relish
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
1 12-pack of King’s Hawaiian Rolls
(or the Trader Joe’s alternative, Aloha rolls) 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
Sesame Seeds
One baking pan (I use a medium size aluminum disposable for this recipe)

Preparation

Dice your onion. Put oil in a skillet or frying pan set on high. Toss the diced onion in the pan for about a minute, and then add the ground beef. Cook thoroughly until done. Remove from heat.

Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.

Drain the grease from the beef mixture and place it in a bowl. Add salt, pepper and garlic powder. Lightly stir to mix.

Add mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard and sweet relish to the bowl and mix. Using a serrated knife, cut through the center of the rolls, putting the top aside. Place the bottoms in the baking pan. Add beef mixture to bottom rolls evenly. (Note: If you want to add cheese this is the time.) Place roll tops over beef.

Melt the butter and brush onto the tops of the rolls. Add sesame seeds to the tops and then place in the oven for 15 minutes. Once the bread is nice and toasted, remove the pan from oven and let it sit for about 2–3 minutes. Then slice and enjoy!

Bon Appetit!
